Sept. 20, 2010 Trail section: Maps 10, 11 & 12 Northumberland Forest, Warkworth, Castleton
As of this date, the Trail through the Northumberland Forest is still incomplete. It is a mixture of flagged, blazed, unmarked and uncleared trail.  Also there is no signage. It would be very difficult, if not impossible, for anyone to find their way through the forest areas, especially with many other intersecting tracks.  Work is progressing and we hope to have it complete within two months.  There is no blazing or signage on the roads east of the forest, leading to Warkworth or Castleton, but using the map should suffice there.

For further information and updates, or if there is a group that needs guiding through this area, contact:  Garry Niece, Trail Director, 905-655-8040, trails@oakridgestrail.org

Please be aware that the phototoxic plant Giant Hogweed has been found in some Ontario locations.  The sap of this invasive species can cause severe skin inflammations.  For more information on how to identify this plant, please visit www.cloca.com/2009/gianthogweed/
