Canada-wide
Trans-Canada Trail - a trail-in-the-making that will stretch from British Columbia to Newfoundland and link all ten provinces.
Alberta
Banff National Park - Self-guided Trails, Hiking and Backpacking - Banff National Park has over 1600 km of trails (not continuous).
British Columbia
The Galloping Goose Regional Trail - a 60-km trial on Vancouver Island following a former rail line.
West Coast Trail - a continuous 77-km trail from Port Renfrew to Bamfield on Vancouver Island.
Newfoundland
East Coast Trail Association - a continuous 270-km trail from Cape St. Francis to Cape Race on the island.
Northwest Territories
Canol Heritage Trail - a 230-km trial from Macmillan Pass to Norman Wells.
Ontario
Bruce Trail Organization - a continuous 800-km trail from Tobermory to Niagara Falls along the Niagara Escarpment.
Central Ontario Loop Trail - The Central Ontario Loop Trail (COLT) is a shared-use, regional trail initiative that links existing trails in five counties in Central Ontario, Canada
Grand Valley Trails Association - a marked footpath stretching more than 250 km between Rock Point Provincial Park on Lake Erie to the town of Alton
Toronto Bruce Trail Club
Ganaraska Hiking Trial - a continuous 500-km trail from Port Hope to Glen Huron. The Wilderness section is reported to be one of the most challenging blazed trails in Canada.
Humber Valley Heritage Trail - maintains a trail along the Humber Valley from Bolton Ontario to the Caledon Trailway.
Rideau Trail Association - The Rideau Trail is a hiking trail of about 300 km. (186 mi.) in Eastern Ontario, Canada
Voyageur Trail Association - a continuous trail from Manitoulin Island to Thunder Bay along Lake Superior.
Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail - a 325 kilometre trail along the shore of Lake Ontario

Multiple States
American Discovery Trail - a continuous 6356 mile trail from California to Delaware (through Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Maryland).
Appalachian Trail - a 2160 mile trail from Katahdin, Maine to Springer Mountain, Georgia (through New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina).
Continental Divide Trail Society - a continuous 3000 mile trail from the Canadian border to Mexico (through Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico).
North Country Trail - a footpath that one day will stretch more than 4,000 miles to link communities and wilderness areas across seven northern states. More than 1,700 miles have been completed. When completed it will be the longest hiking trail in the United States.
Nez Perce National Historic Trail - a continuous 1170 mile trail from Mallowa Lake, Oregon to the Bear Paws Mountains in northern Montana (through Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana).
Pacific Crest Trail Association - a continuous 2665 mile trail from the Canadian border to Mexico (through Washington, Oregon, and California).
Pacific Northwest Trail - from Montana to Washington along the Canadian border.
Arizona
Arizona Trail Association - a continuous 750-mile trail from the Utah border to the Mexico border. A very topographically diverse trail.
Arkansas
Ozark Highlands Trail Association - a continuous 180-mile from Lake Fort Smith State Park to the Buffalo National River.
Florida
Florida Trail Association - a continuous trail from west of Miami to the Gulf Islands National Seashore.
Minnesota
Kekekabic Trail Club - a continuous 40-mile trail through northern Minnesota wilderness.
New York
Finger Lakes Trail - a continuous 552-mile trail from the Catskill mountains to the Pennsylvania border. Also contains a number of branch and loop trails totalling another 279 miles.
Ohio
Buckeye Trail Association - a 1200 mile trail that encircles Ohio.
Washington
The Iron Goat Trail - a short yet historic trail following the Iron Goat railway.
Wisconsin
Ice Age Trail - a continuous trail-in-development that when completed, will follow the terminal moraine of the last glacier for 1000-miles.
