Course in Natural History of the Moraine Site Map

The Koffler Scientific Reserve (KSR) together with the School of Continuing Studies (UofT) offer a unique multi-disciplinary class in Ecology and Natural History of Southern Ontario with hands-on field experience. There will be a strong outdoors teaching approach, small class size and no prerequisites other than passion for nature. The course will examine the diversity of plants, animals, fungi, and lichen of the region along with other aspects of its ecology, geology and hydrology.

The course runs from January 2009 to June 2009 with weekly classes on Thursdays from 1-5 pm at KSR. Expect to get dirty and/or wet, as the motto is 'rain or shine'. Course work will be interactive, we expect you to ask lots of questions and also to teach your peers about what you know. Participants who complete the course can go on to serve as docents for public education at KSR and other conservation areas.
